Capt. Kathy Weydig is a leading expert in scuba diving training at all levels.
Since 1982 she has completed over 2,800 dives exploring shipwrecks and reefs all over the world. Most notable of the wreck sites are, the USS Monitor, USS Wilkes Barre, USS San Diego, SS Oregon, RMS Rhone, and the Andrea Doria.
With two degrees in Communications/Journalism and Photography Kathy has taken that "need to know" approach to her scuba diving training. Using teaching techniques that help students and instructors understand the things that they want to know combined with what they need to know has made Kathy one of the most sought after instructors in the nation.

Safety has always been a key thread through her work with divers and boaters. In 1991 she trained with hyperbaric expert Dick Rutkowski and became a Diving Medical Technician. By 1993 while actively teaching diving she worked as a diving hyperbaric technician at the Beneath the Sea Hyperbaric Center at St. Agnes Hospital in Westchester, NY. This led to her position as Training Director and Certified Hyperbaric Technician in 1994 at the City Island Chamber as a two-year project which became one of the busiest and most respected diver treatment facilities in the country.
Kathy has served on many dive training and accident prevention boards and panels as organizer, participant and speaker. She is recipient of two NAUI Outstanding Service Award, was Chairman of the Elections Committee, a member of the NAUI Advisory Board and is a member of NAUI's Technical Advisory Board.
Kathy was involved with technical diving during its birth. After training with Capt. Billy Deans and serving as expedition Captain aboard the R/V Wahoo she has been involved with the training and operations of many expeditions. Most notable of these are three expeditions to the Andrea Doria and the 1997 Civilian Research Expedition to the USS Monitor.
Kathy is an Instructor Trainer for SDI/TDI, and has served at NAUI as Course Director and Branch Manager of the North Atlantic Region. She is an Instructor Trainer with the National Safety Council, DAN, and Lifeguard Instructor with the American Red Cross. Since 1989 she has trained over 1500 divers and instructors to all levels.

Since 1994 she has served as President of Scuba Training and Technology Co. a diver/instructor training company.
In 2002 Kathy was elected President of the Women Divers Hall of Fame, an international organization of women who have devoted their lives and careers to the exploration and research of the seas.
Recently she was appointed to and serves as the Training and Sales Representative for the world's 2nd largest scuba training agency, SDI/TDI, (Scuba Diving International / Technical Diving International) for the California region.
